  • Rekeying means changing the internal pins of the lock so the old keys no longer work. You keep the existing lock, but it is changed to work with a new key.

  • Yes. Rekeying your locks after moving into a new home is highly recommended. Previous owners, tenants, real estate agents, tradespeople or cleaners may still have copies of the old keys.

  • In most cases, yes. If your locks are still in good condition, rekeying is usually cheaper than replacing the full lock. If the locks are damaged, worn or outdated, replacing them may be the better option.

  • Yes. In many cases, we can rekey multiple locks so they work from one key. This is called keying alike and is useful for homes, rentals, offices and commercial properties.

  • Yes. If you have lost your keys, we can rekey the locks so the missing keys no longer work. This helps improve security without always needing to replace every lock.

  • Most standard lock rekeying jobs can be completed during the same visit. The time required depends on the number of locks, the lock types and whether any parts are worn or damaged.
